Graphic Design Consulting

Equipped

Back in October 2014, I assisted editor Glen Richmond in the creation of a new but short-lived periodical for a religious non-profit organization known as the Christian Apologetics Alliance.

Part of this project involved the development of sample periodical styles. Ultimately, after the launch of the first issue of the periodical, called Equipped, I became the design consultant for the periodical's next three issues. Sometimes design corrections needed to be made, whether concerning footnotes or other details. At times, I recommended a background theme, such as stained glass for the third issue.

The periodical itself has releases thematically related to the mission statement and creed of the religious organization, as well as includes some comedic relief.

The writers meant the periodicals as a resource for those who would like to learn more about making a case for defending Christian teaching as well as for increasing awareness of the books that article contributors have written.

The collaborative effort has culminated in four issues (a whole volume), which you can download below.

Pro-life Yard Sign

I assisted my boss and Lynette (who also does graphic design) in the selection process for what to include in a pro-life yard sign in support of Kentucky's vote for amendment #2.

The flier that I had already arranged and edited went over well with our regular volunteers (who have been our proxy for a focus group) in part due to the imagery on it; so, we decided to go with something that had an image of a baby on it. (This contrasted against the version of pro-life yard-sign that Kentucky Right to Life was putting out, which had no such image on it.)

My boss liked the image and wording that I had found online and initially desired to use that; however, due to copyright considerations, we decided to go with a different but similar image instead and to make it more colorful.

Our local audiences liked the design of our yard sign. We only wish it were not so pricey to print off!
